I'm still enjoying the show. So far, the second episode, "The Same Old Story", was the weakest. But I didn't dislike it, and the next two were extremely intriguing.

1x02: "The Same Old Story". The problem here is that I've seen this story too many times, though I liked the ending, with the clones - or so I assume they are - in their containers. I liked Dr Penrose, and his motivation. I liked seeing Nina Sharp's prosthetic. I like the way Nina's assistant (or is it her bodyguard?) lurks.

1x03: "The Ghost Network". Lots of cool ideas here, especially the man who drew pictures of the disasters. (Why only the disasters? Heightened body chemistry?) Walter seemed even more the Mad Scientist here, in a fun sort of way. Have I mentioned that I'm in love with Astrid? Why do the other characters keep ignoring her until she has something brilliant to say?

And what's this about John Scott telling Charlie Francis he loved him? Charlie looked so sad when he said it. Well played. Even if it does imply we have that scenario I hate, Evil Manipulative Bisexual Villain. But the story's so well written and acted I can go with it.

1x04: "The Arrival". If it were me, I'd be thinking of aliens and speculating that the bald guy's notes were written in Kryptonian. I thought he was very, very cool, and looked as if he were a creation of Warren Ellis. I liked the food theme associated with him, and the hat.... and loved the scene where he said what Peter was saying, and then started saying it before Peter said it. And I loved the explanation, when it came, from Walter.

I like the way Peter almost walked out on Olivia, Walter, and the FBI, and then came back.

I loved the root beer theme. I've sworn off soft drinks entirely, but damn, I wanted a root beer almost as much as Walter did by the end of the expisode.

Loved the family background. Finally Peter's mother gets mentioned. We saw a more sympathetic side of Walter, and he's starting to seem less crazy. Loved his apology to Astrid at the end: "You should jab me with a needle, but then, I'd like it."

I wonder if we will ever get a real explanation of the cylinder. (Don't answer that!)

I was not surprised to see John Scott turn up, apparently alive again. This isn't the kind of show in which the dead stay dead. It's way too much like a Marvel comic.
