Five good things that happened today...
May. 5th, 2010 04:07 pm- The lilacs are in bloom. The air smelled lovely as I walked home from work.
- I got a phone call from
walkingowl before work. Nice to talk to her, even if I couldn't promise when I'd be home for a longer call - I don't want to make promises I can't keep. - Even though I talked to
walkingowl longer than I should have, I still managed to finish my exercises, have some breakfast, and get to work on time. Yay! - I walked home past First Avenue Public School. Two little boys had climbed to to the top of the high fence and were looking down on the world, masters of all they surveyed. So cute.
- Had lunch with
gamergrrl at So Go on Bank Street for the third time this week. So self-indulgent! But fun. I had BBQ pork soup with rice noodles. Loved it. But I must stop eating out for lunch. - I read about the history of Albania. Fascinating.
- I had almost no back pain.
- Since starting my detox/exercise/diet program, I've gone down two sizes. Even the new clothes I got to tide me over are too large now. This is downright exciting. I suspect it doesn't really show yet, but in time, it will.
- I got a newspaper. I knew I would - I signed up for a subscription to The Ottawa Citizen over the weekend, at a price that wasn't quite free, but close to. Funny how much fun it is - how exciting - to read a newspaper right through, in print, when I haven't done so for ages.
- I got an unexpected cheque in the mail. Money! Always good.
