Happy Earth Day, tout le monde.

I have no country to fight for; my country is the earth, and I am a citizen of the world. - Eugene V. Debs, 1855-1926

Once again, I was exhausted after work - and indulged this time in a little orgy of chocolate, not something I often do or want to do. Read a few comics and napped. That cured a lot of ills.

Listened for a while (when doing my exercises today) to Astérix & Obélix: Mission Cléopâtre. I saw this back when it first came out; found it funny, but difficult to follow. They talk so fast, and with funny accents! I'm finding the same now, just when I'm getting some confidence in French... I think perseverence is the key.

I love the Astérix version of Caesar.

And I love Gérard Depardieu as Obélix.

Went to a French class this evening; this time, [livejournal.com profile] maaseru came too. I talked about Mohenjo-Daro (hah!) and the teacher introduced us to an interesting book, Speak Quebec!, which lists words commonly used in Québec and not in france. I love words like that: I'm becoming a total lover of Québec French. [livejournal.com profile] maaseru introduced us to the wonderful word botchage and the verb form botchez, while I picked up on glandonneuse, lazy oaf, a condition to which I have aspirations.
