Doctor Who and Amy Pond's timeline...
Apr. 17th, 2010 11:08 pmI had been wondering about the "now" of Amy's life; a "now" that seemed to advance several times in the course of that one "Eleventh Hour". The Tenth Doctor was pretty adamant that alternate worlds were not accessible; then went to to disprove that on numerous occasions. Pete, Jake, and company crossed from one earth to another several times with and without the Doctor; the TARDIS took Ten and Rose to an alternate Earth all on its own; the Doctor crossed back in order to see Rose; she used Torchwood technology to wander goodness knows where between her world and ours; even Donna managed to world-cross. So with that crack in Amy's bedroom, perhaps that altered her in more Schroedinger's catlike ways than we had already noticed.
I thought they were just being vague, but Rory's pass doesn't look vague at all. That's specific. And the TARDIS was badly messed up in "The Eleventh Hour", navigating badly.
This might help explain why she doesn't remember the Daleks or the events of "Journey's End". (Assuming that Captain Jack hasn't been feeding her Retcon.)
Amy's Ledworth did seem rather timeless, except for the technology there.
Has Amy made any reference to the century she's from? I don't quite remember what age they said she was in "The Beast Below" (1,306?) but since we don't know exactly what year that was, that doesn't pin anything down.
There are timey-wimey tricks going on here, but we knew that anyway.
