What a good story.
I remember how I adored Inspector Morse when it was on; I didn't think this could live up to its parent, since no one could be John Thaw over again. But Kevin Whately as Lewis, doesn't need to be, he's just fine as himself. And Laurence Fox as Hathaway is insidiously wonderful.
I tempted to say that the real stars are the writers, Russell Lewis and Stephen Churchett: terrific dialogue, interesting story. It's about a neighbourhood in a north London suburb. The families seem happy, decent and respectable at first glance, but on investigation - well. Desperate Housewives would fit right in.
Loved it. As much as Inspector Morse? Yes, maybe. Looking forward to more.
