I think the Doctor's got a lot of blood on his hands, and i think that if he did't travel the universe he'd end up hanging himself, he wouldn't know what to do. He's been doing this for nine hundred years, he's seen a lot of people die, he's let a lot of people die - he had to, for the greater good, and to save the universe.... There's an urge in him that can't not repay something, that can't not redeem himself in some way.... I think he's a thrill-seeker.... I think he loves it, I think he loves the world, I think he loves the universe.... He's a lover of people and of life. He's like a space Indian Jones with a time machine.
