Glimpse
Jack normally left his own past alone. Sure, life contains pain. Swallow it. Move on. Don't return. No point clinging to heartache.
But here he was, Chicago, February 1936. He watched the door of the club across the street. The club had a certain... reputation. Under other circumstances he'd be inside, dancing, flirting with the beautiful men there.
The man Jack hoped to see appeared in the doorway: tall, dark and gorgeous, in a fox fur coat. He wasn't a Captain yet. Mr Jack Harkness, American bachelor.
A fox fur coat: a sexy smile.
A love that still meant everything.
