Last day on the Ruby Princess...
Jan. 24th, 2010 10:13 pmJanuary 18 was the last day we were on the Ruby Princess. I'll miss that ship.
1.

2. I loved the carpet in one of the restaurants, The Wheelhouse, which was a stylized map of the world.

3. I also loved the Art Deco pictures at the passageway leading to the theatre.

4. The Purser's Dest, with the assistant Pursers, as usual, hard at work.

5. My favourite waitress on the Ruby Princess: Paola, from Portugal. She was just terrific. Though she only waited on my table the first night, she always had a smile and a comment for me if we met up. When I took her picture in the Caribe Cafe, her friend joined in.

6. The second day we were at sea, we got a note that they needed to varnish the railings of our balcony the next morning. It didn't happen. A few days later, we got another such note. It still didn't happen. Then on the last morning, when we came back from breakfast to get our luggage and disembark, we heard singing on our balcony. It was actually being varnished.
