Sailing on the Ruby Princess...
Jan. 10th, 2010 01:44 pmI uploaded some pictures.
From yesterday:
1. One of the first things we saw in Fort Lauderdale in the rain: flowers! Haven't seen flowers in Ottawa for a while. It was cold, it was rainy, and it was gorgeous: there were flowers.

2. We boarded the Ruby Princess to sail the Caribbean Islands. This is the view from our statesroom, looking straight down, with the sea at the top of the picture:

3. Our lovely stateroom, B626, on the port side:

4. As we sailed in the cold rain, a beautiful steam rose from the water, evoking spooky thoughts of Pirates of the Caribbean. This is common on the Ottawa River; I bet it's rare in the Caribbean.

From today:
5. This morning, we looked out from our stateroom onto the sea. No steam now, just gorgeous water to the horizon, and, as we sailed, the occasional island.

6. View from the Purser's Desk:

7. The fitness room. I had a yoga class here, while people on the perimeter were running on the treadmills. Beyond those windows, a wide oceanic horizon. This is high up in the bow.

8. Breakfast on the aft deck:

9. Looking up from Deck 16:
