The recipe I used for Bread Pudding:
Ingredients:
• 6 slices day-old bread
• 2 tbsp butter, melted
• ½ cup raisins (optional)
• 4 eggs, beaten
• 2 cups milk
• 3/4 cup white sugar
• 1 tsp ground cinnamon
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 1/4 tsp allspice
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350F (175C).
2. Break bread into small pieces into an 8" pan or casserole dish. Drizzle melted butter over the bread. If desired, sprinkle with raisins.
3. In a medium mixing bowl, combine eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon and vanilla. I added a dash of allspice. Beat until well mixed. Pour over bread, and lightly brush down with a fork until bread is covered and soaking up the egg mixture.
4. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the top springs back when lightly tapped.
This recipe is good with rum hard sauce - I used the hard sauce I had left over from the Christmas plum pudding. Also good with cream.
I got It from allrecipes.com, and made a few changes.
If you need a recipe for Hard Sauce, it’s this: take ½ cup icing sugar and cream it with ½ cup butter. Stir in 1 tsp rum. Let it melt onto the hot dessert.
