Dem bones...
Oct. 26th, 2009 05:09 pmI'm getting tired of medical stuff.
My ears hurt. I therefore dashed1 off to the doctor this morning, thinking it was a simple problem I'd had before with wax build-up, but no. She thinks I have Temporomandibular joint disorder and should go to my dentist with it. Expensive, she warned me. Synchronistically, I had a phone call from my dentist's assistant this morning, telling me it was time for a check-up. I told her I'd make an appointment when my back felt better.
What is this? Are all my bones rearranging themselves suddenly? I'd like to think the ear pain is simply some kind of congestion, and that the chiropractic work will fix it all.
Faugh.
Anyway: good news is, I walked to the dentist's office and back without undue back pain.
More good news: I got a flu shot. Not the H1N1, which isn't out yet, but a regular flu shot. The doctor told me to be sure to wash my hands and to get the H1N1 shot as soon as I can, because the flu is out there. Yes, ma'am.2
Extra good news: being weighed on my doctor's scales, I weigh 7 pounds less than I did on

1 "Dashed" is a relative term. I walked carefully, one foot in front of the other, not winning any races but coping tolerably well.
2 And the local papers all had headlines about a kid dying of the flu yesterday in CHEO.
