The Thanksgiving Dinner...
Oct. 12th, 2009 11:14 pmMy Thanksgiving dinner was the non-traditional sort, with Lisa, David, their daughters Margot and Eleanor, and Lisa's mother. Most of the cooking was done by David and Eleanor. The main course was pizza, with side dishes of swiss chard, sweet and sour tofu, carrots, broccoli (scorned by the girls), and for dessert, pumpkin pie and pumpkin squares.
After dinner, we played Apples and Apples and a game called 221B Baker Street, in which it seems Sherlock Holmes solved a case in which Vincent Van Gogh murdered a neighbour of Mrs. Hudson. Or something.
I've known Lisa and her mother for fifty years now. That seems... surreal.
