Last night, after walking home and doing an hour of yoga and washing my dishes and cooking, I had no steam left: so I napped. Woke up and read more of "The Fall of the Kings" by Ellen Kushner and Diane Sherman (a wonderful book) and went to bed early, trying not to feel guilty about not catching up on other things.

I slept nine hours. Beautiful luxury. Dreamed I was travelling in Scotland with my father and an odd bunch of people.

I woke up with a Clex story chiming in my head, words strong and precise, a nice dramatic opening scene, and the usual dilemma upon me: when I can I write this down? No time before work. No time at work. Lunchtime... I have to do aerobics, or fall behind on the business. After work? Will it still be in my head then? and what about those urgent things I didn't do last night, like getting my edited story back to Kathy Agel?

I'd like to think that if it's good enough, the story will stay in my head until I have time to write it.

Mine always do! I had a little trouble writing that Chloe story because I've got two O.C. stories and three "other" (koffkoffRPSkoff) stories banging around in my head. Now I already have a post-Exile knocking on the door--it's getting crowded in here, but I'm game to let them all have their day! After all, how I write is sort of like winemaking: the raw materials have to go ferment in the dark for awhile until the finished substance is ready to flow out! :)

Ooh, I hope you write them - and I hope I get to read them.

I like your winemaking analogy. Yes, that's what I'm doing - fermenting. Maybe the oldest stories will be the best.
