1. [Listen] Is there a genre of music you never pictured yourself liking, but have become fond of nonetheless? Are there any genres you still steer away from?

   For the first: rap. For the second: jazz.

2. [Watch] Do you ever throw any social events based on viewing something—ike movie night, a show-themed party, or a sports-themed party?

   I often hold video-parties, centred on shows I like: shows like Doctor Who, Torchwood, Legacy and Supernatural, and in the past, X-Files, Smallville and The Professionals. These used to be sometimes large and lavish; lately, since I live in a small space, I make these parties small. I'd love to have a Halloween party this year, with a Supernatural theme, but how? And who would I invite? and where would I put them?
   
   I am not likely to ever hold a sports-themed party, but you never know. I like fencing, martial arts, equestrian events and European football - so who knows?

3. [Read] Where do you aquire most of your books—used from friends, Amazon, going to bookstores, etc.?

   By far the greatest number of things I have read are from the public or university libraries - by a factor of maybe a hundred. But if the question refers to books I own... That's harder to answer. Maybe 1/3 are gifts, 1/3 from bookstores (especially used bookstores) and, these days, 1/3 from one of the Amazon venues or other online sources like Forbidden Planet - where I got the Torchwood novels.
