Photos from our expedition to the Canadian Aviation Museum on Thursday. I asked if I could take photos inside, and they said, "Sure. Just don't touch the planes."
- When you come to the doorway to the Aviation Museum, after buying a ticket to get in ($9.00) - the first item is this reproduction of a sculpture by R. Tait McKenzie, called The Falcon. I know of at least one superhero by that name. We were amused by the rather large fig leaf.
- The A.E.G. G.IV. From World War I.
- A plane with a canoe, for those hard-to-reach lakes.
- This one with corrugated sides.
- A boat or a plane? A bit of both. The Gummar G-44A Widgeon.
- The Bomarc: unmanned, and very, very tall..
- Boeing Vertol CH-113 Labrador - not just visually impressive, but fun to see what bits do what.
- This is not an airplane, but it's very cool.
- The famous, or infamous, Avro Arrow - all that's left of it. Half a shell. (Beulah worked on this project at one time.) More information here.
