Back home again...

I got home from Fan Expo 2009 in Toronto. Saw some friends like hbruton, Dave from the Snail, and Janet Hetherington and Ronn Sutton - but not Mark, as I'd hope, since the place was chaotic. I wonder how many people were there. Answer: many. They needed more space.

I bought T-shirts with the following designs:

• Spike
  
• Torchwood Institute (with the logo)
  
• Marvel characters - Wolverine, Spider-Man, and Daredevil
  
• X-Men
  
• Batman and Catwoman
  
• Serenity - showing the whole Firefly crew
  

I saw many wonderful costumes, many in the streets of Toronto. And sometimes just regular people with vampire-bites on their necks. As I was walking into the lobby of the oh-do-very-post Royal York hotel, I overheard someone saying to their friend, "So the Daleks were about to take over, but...."

And at the con, from a young man looking enviously at a model dressed as Supergirl: "Imagine being paid to cosplay!"

explodedteabag found a treasure-trove of Supernatural trading cards (first to third seasons), but we couldn't find T-shirts with pictures of Dean or Castiel.

And I got terrific deals on the following:

• Dark Victory by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale (which I've read before, but always wanted to own)
  
• The New Avengers, vol. 6: Revolution
  
• The Invincible Iron Man: Disassembled by John Jackson Miller and others
  
• The Mighty Avengers: Secret Invasion by Brian Michael Bendis and others
  
• X-Factor: The Only Game in Town HC by Peter David and Pablo Raimondi
  
• The Invincible Iron Man: The Five Nightmares Premiere HC by Matt Fraction and Salvador Larroca
  
• The Avengers: Disassembled by Brian Michael Bendis and David Finch

These should help bridge the gap of some storylines I've missed over the past couple of years.
