I've been on the road most of the day with [livejournal.com profile] maaseru, from Ottawa to Stratford. It was a hot but pleasant drive that involved shopping at Henry's in Pickering, getting close enough to Toronto to see the CN Tower, and a lovely dinner at a Baton Rouge in Mississauga. Lunch was the traditional chicken at the Swiss Chalet in Port Hope.

So here we are in Stratford again, and I am reminded that when we were here last year, neither [livejournal.com profile] maaseru could walk worth anything; now we're both striding around like champions. They've renovated the hotel since last year, and the restaurant seems to be only open for breakfast - a pity, since I enjoyed my meals there, but there are many places to eat in this town.

And tomorrow, the Farmer's Market in St. Jacob's, all going well.

My Mom lived in the Mississauga area. (many, many moons ago)
Still have old family friends in New Toronto.
I've never been to Port Hope but I LOVE Toronto!
and regarding the walking thing...
I actually had a similar thought last summer.
6 years ago I had a knee replacement, I also have MS but last year I managed to WALK from Mermaid Quay all the way to Cardiff Castle, no crutches. (and I did that several times while I was there)...how things change:
this year: Torchsong killed my knee replacement and now I'm back on crutches so walking to the bathroom is an issue... how times change... Go figure
