MacGyver...
Sep. 13th, 2003 02:32 pmI watched an episode of MacGyver yesterday. I watched it because
I liked it too. And Richard Dean Anderson - Though he is not my 'ideal type' with large nose and dark hair, he has the body type I most like. long and lean. I find most heroes on TV (and in movies) these days are too wide, too large. Michael Rosenbaum is also just right.
It reminded me so much of The Professionals I became intensely nostalgic. The same pacing, the same kind of still villains in suits with guns and German accents, the same grungy alleyways. MacGyver even dressed like Bodie or Doyle, with bomber jacket and tight pants. Yummy. The gunfights and stairways and helpful-spunky-girl and explosions - yup, extremely familiar.
I might add that Bodie and Doyle (Lewis Collins and Martin Shaw) had the kind of bodies I like, too.
MacGyver reminded me also of the conversations I had last week with Jo about screenwriting and the length of scenes, and the length of any bit of dialogue. 1980s pacing isnt' quite the same as what we have currently, but... interesting.
