No, Domino is just fine, I am happy to report. It was his infant siblings who didn't make it. Domino is now bigger than his mother, who is still looking a little tired from taking care of the little ones.
The ones who died still didn't have either names or feathers.
DOmino is fine. I think the new ones hatched about two weeks ago. There was a lot of peeping going on for a while - enough to make me believe they'd be okay - but with infant budgies, nothing is certain.
I'm so sorry to hear that. I just love budgies and I've really enjoyed your stories about Domino. I hope if they lay again, it will have a happier outcome for you.
Thanks. I'm sure I'll have more Domino stories! He's a lively little guy.
I think I might destroy the eggs next time Wisdom lays some; or maybe all but one, since she doesn't seem able to raise more than one at a time. We'll see how I feel when the time comes. I love the babies, and it's so disappointing to see them die.
