I actually watched two episodes of Angel on Sunday. And, surprisingly, I enjoyed them very much: it was the first two episodes of first season.
Why, surprisingly? Because I don't like David Boreanaz, and was never a big fan of Buffy (though I love Spike, and almost love Giles.)
Angel Conundrums
Date: 2003-09-10 08:33 pm (UTC)Doyle was enjoyable. He had the habit of getting psychic flashes, which would come upon him with no warning and leave him with a splitting headache and desperate to record the images he'd just received. The classic instance: Doyle is knocked to his knees, grabs his head and yells, then, with the seizure over, gasps, "Pencil. Paper. Single-malt scotch."
The show itself, Angel, does have a nifty premise -- help the ones helped by no one else. And one of the most hauntingly beautiful opening themes I've ever heard. That cello can move me to tears, just about.
I've tried to watch Angel, too, and never managed to get far into it. But I've enjoyed the odd episode and the odd moment. And I don't like David Boreanaz, either.

I didn't understand the 'why' of that.
