I went to the Il Divo concert tonight with

maaseru. Loved it. Interesting staging; sometimes a little too garish for my tastes, but with intriguing visual pictures, bits of film, and lighting; I particularly liked an animated background based on Louise Brooks' series of pictures with pearls.

The best songs in my opinion were She and Hallelujah. I was also glad when they did Amazing Grace, because that's a song I never much liked before; but actually hearing a version of it that I liked (by Il Divo) was what made me pay attention to them in the first place. I also enjoyed Adagio. Had a terrible time placing She; I knew I'd heard it in a movie, tracked it down easily as a Charles Aznavour song, but it took me a while to remember it was in the movie Notting Hill.
