On one of the mailing lists I'm on, someone quoted a description of Gerard Depardieu as "the frog most British women would like to find down their throats."

Heh.

Yeah, I'm a Depardieu fan. I still want to see the rest of his version of The Count of Monte Cristo - I saw the first couple of episodes when I was visiting friends on San Francisco, but still haven't got my hands on it to see the rest.

Depardieu's Count of Monte Cristo is one of my favourite European tv series ever. It's marvellously done, and Depardieu is so hot in the role; his acting is simply magnificent. Not to mention the breathtaking way he speaks. He's one of very few French actors whom I can actually understand when they talk, and I could listen to him for hours.

I agree about Depardieu's voice. It's magnificent, and very clear. (Doesn't matter whether he's speaking French or English.) I must find a way to see the rest of that series.
