fajrdrako: ([Doctor Who] - Ten)

I liked this more than "The Next Doctor". I enjoyed Michelle Ryan every bit as much as I expected to. She was Highlander's Amanda done right.

Favourite bits and chatter:
  1. I love it that the Doctor acknowledged his own theft of the TARDIS so long ago.

  2. Lady Christina sized the Doctor up, and saw him as her equal. And to some extent, vice versa; hence the "honourable Lady" and "you look like a Time Lord" teasing. In contrast, Malcolm Taylor saw the Doctor with star-struck eyes.

  3. Wonderful to see Capt. Erisa Magambo again!

  4. Does everyone in England know Lee Evans? I never heard of him before.

  5. Some of the people in the bus seemed extraneous, and weren't very developed.

  6. "The Doctor's song..." Say what?

  7. I still love the theme that he doesn't want a companion because he hates losing them. Even though I'll argue to the end that he breaks their hearts before they break his. And often he has to sacrifice them, and that's what is really hurting him.

  8. That was Paul Kasey under the Fly mask - I thought so! I loved the way the Doctor could speak their language, and the way they communicated. It reminded me of Martha and the Hath in "The Doctor's Daughter", all the more so in that neither race had visible mouths, but mandibles and bubbles.

  9. I love a flying bus. A flying red double-decker bus. A damanged flying red double-decker bus.

  10. I'd like to see Lady Christina meet Captain Jack. They strike me as two of a kind in many ways.

  11. So now we know the schedule (more or less) for the rest of 2009. I thought they'd space the specials more evenly. But... no reason for them to.

  12. I liked the reference to "Midnight".

  13. I thought the Dubai background was very effective.

  14. The Doctor gets another kiss. Aww. Good for Lady Christina.

  15. I hope we see more of the TARDIS in the next episode - interior included. On the other hand, I liked it that the Doctor had a doohickey.

  16. Loved the trick with the glasses and sunglasses and the sonic screwdriver.

  17. Going to watch it again tomorrow. Yay!

This!

I agree on all points. I liked her character. She was so take-charge.

They often like to play contrasts for the companions, but Lady Christina was just... well, she was what she was, and she was endlessly entertaining.

Yes - Christina and Jack would be marvellous! I noticed a major homage to Entrapment, too.

Yes, Entrapment. All sorts of good things, including the banter.
