Unfortunately, old Sol is not providing enough heat and warmth to keep conditions normal. [The Sun usually has a few sunspots, indicating a lot of energetic activity; in the past year or two, the number of sunspots has dropped to zero (http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5guAhyObk2E4CfjHAda1Fi4wRraRQD97AIOB00).]

According to other sources that I have read, that sunspot cycle has a far bigger effect on the Earth's temperature than human activity does, so "global warming" (especially the type caused by humans) may turn out to be an error in statistics!
