Today I met [livejournal.com profile] commodorified at Bridgehead for coffee, and then we went for a walk in the park and along the canal. Afterwards, researched Hadrian's Wall a little at my place. We have plans to walk there. Practice beforehand will be necessary.

Lunch was lovely, too. [livejournal.com profile] maaseru and Catherine and I meant to go to Von's, but when we got there they were crowded, and we realized we'd never been to the place next door to Von's, Infusion Bistro. I liked the decor - not fancy, but with a nice brick wall and blown-up art photos I liked on the wall. Many's the time I don't like art photos. The french fries were delicious - and it's becoming harder and harder to find good french fries in Ottawa. I had lamb with spinach salad - delicious lamb, and even just having lamb on the menu earned them my seal of approval. Catherine had an appetizer of some sort of goat's cheese and mushrooms in pastry, incredibly good. I couldn't taste [livejournal.com profile] maaseru's spinach and coconut soup, as it was spicy.

Then in the evening I played with making screencaps from Torchwood, and I made some icons. Me, an icon-maker! Wonders never cease. I might even have the nerve to use them one day. Maybe.

which, of course, leads us to the inevitable conclusion that Hadrian's Wall is England's hymen

I think I'll have to think about that. And about whether it's a good thing. (I think so.) And what the symbolic significance of walking on it will be.

And ... no wonder other people haven't been saying this. Out loud.
