Coldhart

The Torchwood Hub was exciting. During his Time Agency years, the most exciting place John had ever found was Captain Jack's bed. Torchwood wasn't quite that good - not for him, anyway, he thought, not now, glancing at Eye Candy.

Jack was looking at Ianto too, asking him for information. Ianto's reply was too low to hear, but John could guess the warmth in his reply. He could see the answering affection in Jack's dark eyes.

John fought down hot jealousy. To survive here, he must cultivate a heart as cold as steel.

His new persona would be Captain John Coldhart.

But he has to give the kid credit: Ianto tried to kill him, so he does have some spirit. Of course, he tried to kill him for fucking with Jack, so again that's discouraging.

This made me a little sad for John which I don't think I have ever felt for him--as much as I love him.

I adore Captain John, and feel sad for him - I think his life has become horrifically tragic. He's trapped in a world he doesn't understand, where the only person he knows and loves doesn't want him. He's facing it - bravely.
