1. Can you cook?

Yes, although I don't have a real kitchen.

2. What was your dream growing up?

Big black pigs with pink outlines lived under my bed. (We had a bull koala who used to grunt and squeal on our roof, horrible noise, and as a kid it became the noise of black bed pigs).

Any, really. I'd love to be able to sing.

Bed. Now that it's pigless.

Kumera.

"To Say Nothing Of The Dog" by um... Connie Willis. Terribly forgettable.

Picking my scabs and rubbing them into my eyes.

Dome/Art House. When they are open, which is only every second Tuesday for five minutes on months with R in them.

although I don't have a real kitchen

One of my dreams in life is to have a big luxurious kitchen like you see in the magazines, with room for everything. (And by 'everything' I mean 'a few pots'.) I've always wanted a big bathroom, too. Will probably never have one. Ah well.

Bed pigs! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack! Scary.

I had to google for that one - Wikipedia let me down. Then when I found it, I looked it up on Wikipedia and learned that kumera is a name for what I'd call a sweet potato. Which I love, too. And I just learned from this that a sweet potato isn't a yam. Huh. My new bit of trivia for the day.

I know Connie Willis is a very popular writer but I've never actually read one of her books. I did read the first page of "Doomsday Book" once.

Oh me, too - kitchen and bathroom. I'd kill for a bath tub. Truly. Some random dood, I don't care, whoever, I'd kill.

Kumera is a kind of sweet potato, otherwise called golden or orange sweet potato. We have several types. Actually, I kinda prefer the one that's purple outside and white inside, although it's not as versitile.

We have yams here, but I've never tried them. Knobbly and tiny, they look like too much work to peel.

I read the Connie Willis book on a rec. It was okay. Kind of a few days wasted, but no big regrets.

I was arrested for assault but let go because it was a huge man that attacked me, and if he came off worse (partially scalped and a broken leg) the police just laughed at him. I was also arrested for trying to rescue animals from our school lab, but again the charges were dropped as the school was doing illegal stuff with the animals. A couple of close scrapes.

I love the way food is different from place to place. I'd love to eat a kumera. (I wonder what the manager of my supermarket would say if I asked him. I was thinking of writing to him, but I forget about what.)

Interesting near-arrest stories. Sounds like the man who attacked you deserved his injuries. As for rescuing the animals: good for you!
