I've got it! I've got it! I have my beautiful new computer and it's wonderful in every way.

I am so happy.

Wheeee! Excellent stuff... ahh, a new-technology pet. All that fastness and shinynes. Sigh!

I'm thinking about getting a new one too. What did you get? I'd like to know what helped you decide... in a fairly non-techie way, that is. All the gigas and megas confuse my prretty little blonde head!

Yup, it's fast and it's shiny! Beautiful.

I don't have my notes with me to say in detail what I have now: it's faster and better than the old one by a long shot. I also got a video card, and a new keyboard.

Very shiny.

Wonderful news! Enjoy it. :-)

I'm still working on getting my new computer set up the way that I want it and all the info from my last computer transferred over.

One of the most wonderful things about the new computer is that they used my old hard drive (which was the newest thing about the old computer) and didn't have to reformat; so I don't have to transfer stuff. And the hours I spent on back-ups on Monday weren't necessary, though I'm glad I did it.

I love the new machine - it's like driving a Porsche after driving a dog-cart.

Congratulations!! I know exactly how you feel -- after having a Pentium (no numbers behind that -- just a Pentium) with very little RAM and only 1 GB of memory on the hard drive, getting a new computer last year was *heaven*!! My emachines is so much faster, with a Pentium 4 and 256 RAM and a DVD player and a CD burner and 60 GB of memory -- I love it. Not fond of Windows XP, but all in all, the advantages of this new machine far outweigh any slight drawbacks. I know just how you feel. Whee!! Have fun!!

You still have way more than I do - I don't have the DVD player! But I do have the rest and it's so beautiful I can hardly stand it. (And I like Windows XP, with a few quibbles, most of them cosmetic and aesthetic.) My old machine wasn't even a Pentium - it was just slightly pre-Pentium, a sort of Pentium-wannabe, and heavily overburdened. The new machines is heavenly.

Whooo, you bought a brand spankin' new one, 'stead of spiffing up Old Paint? Good for you, and indeed congratulations - have fun!

Thank you! I can't really call it an entirely new computer - it's mostly new, but with some parts pirated (gotta use that verb!) from the other one. So it's a mostly-new computer. Enhanced. Grown from the heart of the old one.

I begin to think I should give my computer a name.

I gave mine a name when it was new, and now I have no idea what it was!

Hee - long as it was polite! That sounds like something I'd do.
