Torchwood: the new trailer for series 3...

How starved I am for more Torchwood. This trailer excited me more than its brevity warrants. But what a lot of delicious looking substance!

It's odd to see a Torchwood trailer without Toshiko and Owen.

A few thoughts:

1. Doesn't Jack look fine.
   
2. Running. Good.
   
3. Kissing. Even better.
   
4. Gwen with a gun. Two guns. Cool.
   
5. Did I mention the kissing?
   
6. Rhys, looking pretty fine himself.
   
7. What's that moment with Jack in a t-shirt? is he in disguise?
   
8. Yucky chained guy without much skin.
   
9. It looks like Children of Men. Good thing I like that. This looks like another of those pastiche things they do so well.
   
10. Paul Copley: what fun to see him.
    
11. I wonder if what we're seeing is all from episode 1, or bits of all the episodes.
    
12. Wonderful line:
    Woman: What kind of civil servants are you?
    Ianto: Unappreciated ones.
    
    
13. Was Jack using his wristband? He was touching it... Hmm.
    
14. Looks as if the bad guys are trying to eliminate the Torchwood team - Targets 1, 2, and 3. Or am I guessing wrong? If Target 1 is Jack, she probably thinks he's dead, but he isn't.
    
15. Is it just me making a snap judgement, or does Ianto seem more mature here?
    
16. Jack in blue shirt. Yes.
    
17. I like the stark black and white "Torchwood" logo.
    
18. The trailer seems full of ominous lines like "They're back" and "Is it them? Have they come back?" - Just like a good trailer should.
    
19. Some of the settings look familiar: open land in Wales, an emergency vehicle, the Hub, for foot bridge city streets, and ... is that London?

Not in canon, no. TPTB are following through with their promise that we'd learn all about Ianto's family. I'm curious to see what they have to say. I figured he loves 'em, but he's estranged from them, probably on his own part because of Torchwood.

The aunt was mentioned in passing in one of the later books. I meant to make a note of it because I was planning to use her in a fic - and now I can't remember her name. Hmmph! I hope I made a note of it.

Cool. I'm sort of disappointed Ianto's sister is around his age; I'd had this lovely thought that she was a good 10 years older and that Ianto was more of an accident baby and she was jealous of him and resented taking care of him when he was tiny and such.

It would be fun if there was something unusual about their relationship. Do you know how the sister comes into the story? No, don't answer that; I can guess as well as anyone.

My heart just drops when Jack rolls his eyes back because it tells me something BAD is about to happen! Oh no!

I'm still annoyed that we don't have a release date yet.

Also, this series is going to be EPIC! I squee every time I rewatch the trailer (that would be at least 10 times now). :D

Good question. Torchwood is usually vague about time, and it seems time goes by more slowly on the show than I thought. Presumably this is after "Lost Souls" and "Almost Perfect".

I have been known to complain about the quality of Jack/Ianto kisses, none of which to date seemed satisfactory to me. This looks like the best yet.

Yes - and quite a contrast to the Welsh parliament. We don't often see the Torchwood team in London - and maybe we still don't, who knows? Nice to see something outside Wales, though. (Not that I mind Wales.)

I was making a guess that it's Jack post being blown up and buried under a ton of concrete. And since Jack can't get to his things either because the HUB is still exploded, they found some clothes somewhere else.

And, of course, those random clothes happen to include a blue shirt.
