Don't Look Back

The year that never was had ended.

Last time Jack said good-bye to the Doctor, it had been with a kiss. Now, a salute for him, a smile for Martha. Brilliant, brave Martha.

Don't look back, Jack told himself, running.

They'd be waiting for him at Torchwood. Tosh, Owen, Gwen and beautiful Ianto. They were his team. He had no room for regrets. No excuse to think of the the alien in the coat, the man he was leaving, who once transformed his life.

Don't look back at the Time Lord.

Look forward, to the life he was building here.
