I was looking at a picture from "Everything Changes": - this one:

We all know who the Hand belonged to, and why Jack had it. But what's the story of the Face? Has it been seen again?

I have no idea as I only noticed the hand.

Though maybe it was a clue about Jack's future? though it probably stupid.

I don't know... It doesn't look like Boe. I'm trying to think whether anyone has been beheaded.

I meant by the fact it is a head in a jar.

Could be, though I was under the impression that when "Everything Changes" was written, no one had yet thought of making Jack the Face of Boe. But we could think of it as a retrofit.

That... is disturbing.

...?

I am bemused.

Seems an odd object. Even for Jack.

It's giving me the creeps!

Quite right, too.

I can also imagine Ianto saying, "We are NOT having sex in front of that!"

In fact, I'm fairly certain he's responsible for its removal.

Put it away in a locked drawer somewhere. Heh.

What about that dried and stretched lady from the distant future? Cat?

Don't they say who it is in the Random Shoes episode? When Eugene first walks into the Hub, I think he mentions a name to go along with the panning sweep over that particular collection...

You're right. This will teach me to not watch "Random Shoes" multiple times, like I do the others! (But... but... Jack's hardly in it! It lessens the appeal.)

Love your icon there.

*draws hearts around the wrongness of Adam/Ianto* :D

Oh I don't blame you, Random Shoes felt out of sync with the order of episodes anyway personally. I would have put it earlier in the season considering how Gwen was still chafing with the others and lost the chemistry she had with Owen -fights/end of their relationship or not- but I think 'Adrift' was a better 'Gwen has a mission, out of her way!' episode regardless~

Yes - "Adrift" was a better story, not just because of the hothouse scene, but because it was about Torchwood. More substance, too. "Random Shoes" was not really about Eugene and Torchwood, or Eugene and aliens, or Eugene and Gwen - it was about the relationship between a man and his estranged father. Not the same at all.

Maybe Jack once got his face sliced off and it grew back but he was still left with the sliced off bit and decided to keep it as a souvenir?

(why yes, I am somewhat warped on the inside, why do you ask? ;-)
(and now I may have to write that fic!)

Good idea! Write that fic!

Hmm, well it would fit in somewhat with another idea (also sick and twisted!) that I was kicking around. And (knock on wood), life does seem to be settling down enough that I'll be able to get back to writing again...

You do realize that I'll totally be blaming you for what I come with? ;-)

If it encourages fic from you, I'm happy to take the blame!
