My Chinese zodiac animal is the Dragon. This, to a large extent, is why I chose [livejournal.com profile] fajrdrako as my pseudonym.
Personality
Occupying the 5th position in the Chinese Zodiac, the Dragon is the mightiest of the signs. Dragons symbolize such character traits as dominance and ambition. Dragons prefer to live by their own rules and if left on their own, are usually successful. They’re driven, unafraid of challenges, and willing to take risks. They’re passionate in all they do and they do things in grand fashion. Unfortunately, this passion and enthusiasm can leave Dragons feeling exhausted and interestingly, unfulfilled.

Living by my own rules - yes! That's the key. But... am I dominant? Ambitous, yes, in my own way... I'm flexible but not biddable. Passionate... oh dear, yes, that's too true. Only too true.
While Dragons frequently help others, rarely will they ask for help. Others are attracted to Dragons, especially their colorful personalities, but deep down, Dragons prefer to be alone. Perhaps that is because they’re most successful when working alone. Their preference to be alone can come across as arrogance or conceitedness, but these qualities aren’t applicable. Dragons have tempers that can flare fast!
I don't have much of a temper, but I do get... jangled nerves sometimes.
Health
Considering their hard-working nature, Dragons are healthy overall. They do get stressed and suffer from periodic tension/headaches, likely because they take so many risks. Dragons could benefit from incorporating mild activity into their lives. Yoga or walking would be good as these activities can work both their minds and their bodies.
Yoga and walking? My things, absolutely.
Career

Dragons prefer leading to being led. Jobs that allow them to express their creativity are good choices. Some good careers include: inventor, manager, computer analyst, lawyer, engineer, architect, broker, and sales person.
Sales person? I don't think so! But I've fantasized about being a lawyer, engineer, or architect.
Relationships
Dragons will give into love, but won’t give up their independence. Because they have quick, sometimes vengeful tempers, their partners need to be tough-skinned. Dragons enjoy others who are intriguing, and when they find the right partners, they’ll usually commit to that person for life.
So are polyamorous dragons unusual? ... Thinking it over, it doesn't mean that. It refers to duration of love, and even perhaps intensity, but not singularity. Which sounds just about right.

So, specifically, I am not really a fire dragon, but a water dragon.
Water Dragons – Years 1952 and 2012
Water calms the Dragon’s fire. Water Dragons are able to see things from other points of view. They don’t have the need to always be right. Their decisions, if well-researched, are usually better since they allow others to become involved.
This rather charming site says I am eccentric and feisty and walk barefoot in fountains.

"So are polyamorous dragons unusual?"

Poly anything seems to unthinkable in the Western world. And not just in relationships. People keep asking me what's my favorite book or movie or color like I can have only one of even them.

Although the text refers to partners in the plural all the time.

Yes. I was trying to decipher that. I suppose I can just interpret it as I wish!

EARTH TIGER Horoscope
Jan 31, 1938 to Feb 18, 1939
Jan 28, 1998 to Feb 15, 1999

Tiger people are sympathetic, kind, emotional, and sensitive. At movies, they can cry their eyes out! Despite their kindness, they can be extremely short-tempered. The rage of Tigers is terrible to behold but it also gives them the adrenaline needed for the sublimest of bravery. The Tiger is also a deep thinker and can make the most astonishing intellectual connections, with great mental agility. On the negative side, they tend to be suspicious and a bit self-centered, OK selfish, and indecisive. Above everything, however, the Tiger stands as a supreme emblem of protection over human life, admirable always.

Kind? hardly. A humanist at heart? (Well, a believer in the basic worth and dignity of all sentient beings except those who behave very badly) yes. Suspicious, self-centered, and indecisive? Oh, absolutely! Brave? Hah. It is to laugh. Must be some Rabbit genes in there somewhere.

Soup and Oolong Tea are among the keys to good health.

Okay.

Earth Tigers are workaholics. They work hard. They play hard. Whether it's tennis or the famous bottom line, they keep their feet solidly on the ground, setting high realistic goals. They steadily, consistently, achieve their goals, never plopping on the sofa, never shirking their responsibilities. Independent thinkers, they developed a strong sense of self-confidence at a very early age through the encouragement of friends and perceptive teachers. Luckily for everyone else, they realize that life is a two-way street and they do their best to bring out the best in others, doing so with great warmth and kindness. Earth Tigers make loyal friends and are remembered for their thoughtful ways. Financially, they're so-so. No, not bad, just so-so, unless they happen to be extremely business oriented then it's OK. When it comes to love and relationships, Earth Tigers are typical passionate Tigers. While not great romantics (sometimes they'd rather be off working while spouses stay home waiting), they certainly are faithful. In the long run, relationships do work out, and the couple's happiness is definitely worth waiting for.

hard-working and faithful - I thinkk so. Never flop on the couch? Again, hah! Must be some sloth genes in there.

Queen who? Or so they mean the rock band of the same name, who I quite like?

I have a 1960 born friend who is a Metal rat. Slipper Jim DiGriz jokes abound when the subject comes up.

What would life be without the occasional couch-flop?

Queen - yes. Great band.

I'm a snake, but an Earth Snake.

Earth Snakes – Years 1929 and 1989

Earth Snakes always seem to be calm and content. They’re friendly and approachable and believe that they’ll reap great rewards by working hard and relying on common sense.

Personality

Occupying the 6th position in the Chinese Zodiac, the Snake symbolizes such character traits as intelligence, gracefulness and materialism. When it comes to decision-making, Snakes are extremely analytical and as a result, they don’t jump into situations. They are effective at getting the things they want, even if it means they have to scheme and plot along the way.

Snakes are very materialistic creatures, preferring to surround themselves with the finest that life has to offer. This is especially evident in the home, where luxurious furnishings and surroundings help Snakes seek the peace they need in order to thrive.
Health

Snakes prefer living a life of calmness, preferring quietness over noise and a manageable workload rather than a schedule that’s overly-booked. Snakes become easily stressed when their lives aren’t peaceful or in order. Too much of this way of life can shorten a snake’s life!
Career

Snakes do work very hard, but they have a tendency to be job-hoppers as they become easily bored. Their somewhat laid-back attitude causes them to be mistakenly categorized as slackers, but nothing could be further from the truth! Snakes are very creative and extremely diligent. They’re excellent problem-solvers and thrive under tight deadlines. Good career choices for Snakes include: scientist, analyst, investigator, painter, potter, jeweler, astrologer, magician, dietician, and sociologist.
Relationships

Snakes are excellent seducers so they never have trouble attracting others. However, they’ll be the ones to decide when a relationship has potential and when it does not. Once they’ve chosen a partner, a Snake’s insecure side will begin to show through. Snakes guards their chosen partners much like a prized possessions, becoming jealous and even obsessive. Snakes prefer to keep their feelings to themselves. It’s important to never betray a Snake’s trust as a betrayed snake will make it a goal to get even some day!

Most of it is true.

haha I love that charming site! About me:

"Sometimes, they tend to be pessimistic and question the meaning of life, wondering "why they dwell among green mountains."

"Earth Lambs are like dancing daffodils, moving with kinetic exuberance and joy."

"At some point in later life, they are rewarded with unexpected financial fortune. What a cozy twosome the Earth Lamb makes with a love partner. Relationships are filled with exquisite warmth, gentleness, and tenderness, with magical threads of sensuality taking them on beautiful carpet rides. "

Wow I'm awesome! ;)

WOOD RABBIT Horoscope
Feb 14, 1915 to Feb 2, 1916
Feb 11, 1975 to Jan 30, 1976

Rabbit people love to play under the moonlight. Quite fanciful, they respond to the power and beauty of nature and are always being pulled one way and the other to examine what they find.

**so far so good, I am not really that much into nature, but I can love my surroundings, and I do recognize the being pulled different ways, I can get into the "enthusiastic little kid mode" quite easily.**

They are the luckiest of all twelve signs!
**I think I am lucky**
But, it's more a result of "the harder I work, the luckier I get" than taking crazy chances. They are cautious, conservative, bright, and have a good head for business.
**I am cautious**

Supremely pleasant to have around, these affectionate, naturally shy peacemakers seldom ever lose their temper. They sometimes appear to be singing the blues because of a natural but short-lived tendency towards despondency. Rabbits always inspire deep admiration and trust.

**I think I am less mild tempered than is sketched here. Certainly more than short term despondency. And I a have no claim to the even temper.**

Ginger Soup and Ginger Noodles are among the keys to good health!!
**oh?? I should try them. I quite like ginger**

From the time Wood Rabbits were small children delighting in Story Time, Wood Rabbits have pursued knowledge. Charming conversationalists, they regale others with anecdotal glimpses into literature, history, and current events. They are lifelong members of the Legendary Rendezvous for People in the Arts and are frequenters of bookstores, libraries, and halls of academia.
**Oh, I don't mind this!**

Their innate cunning makes them superb players not only in the game of chess but the game of life. No wrong moves allowed!
**eh?**
Wood Rabbits are alert to new experiences, hang-loose philosophically, and very generous to friends and love ones. But, here's some good advice to Wood Rabbits everywhere! Find a good financial advisor. You might think it's hip to be The Big Spender, but, hey, look at it this way, what are you going to do on that rainy day? Hmmmmm? A little frugality will do you a world of good.
**And didn't you just say I was cautious and conservative, dear oracle?**

Love Life for the Wood Rabbit is filled with rapturous sweetness, so incredibly generous in affection, it puts the partner's head in a spin. Fireplace cuddles are the way of life.

**Most certainly like that!!! (And being warmed by a new love how can I deny?)**

I'm the one with an even temper - and dragons are supposed to have ferocious tempers. Doesn't add up, does it?

I like ginger too. Ginger soup for supper? Sounds like a good idea.

Bookstores, libraries and universities - sounds like heaven!

Rapturous sweetness. Mmm. Lovely.
