Outside the Government

"How can you stand being unable to vote?" asked Gwen. "Barred from the parliamentary process?"

"'Outside the government.'" Jack quoted his own tagline.

"Did you ever vote for anyone?" asked Ianto.

Jack considered. "Voted for Pericles once."

Pause. "You weren't Athenian."

"No. It was illegal as hell. But he was the best - the sure thing."

Ianto said thoughtfully, "Did you just vote because you were sleeping with him?"

Gwen gasped. "No! Jack? You didn't!"

"I don't kiss and tell."

"Liar! You tell all the time."

Jack chuckled, taking his coffee - and his secrets - back to his office.

Ha! This is so Jack, cryptic, playing with history, but with that layer of seriousness underneath.

This is a great example of how you can get a full, lively conversation in to 100 words, too. Great!
