Overheard

As Jack introduced his team, John wondered which Jack was screwing. They all wanted him, John knew. Who wouldn't?

Jack wouldn't like it, if John had to kill them to save him. Was there any way to get Jack and himself out of this alive? To save this planet from Gray's fury?

Well, fuck it. After today, Jack wouldn't so much as give him the time of day again. If either of them survived. Ever.

He wanted to say, "Jack, do me a favour? Kill your brother for me."

He wanted to say, "Take me back."

But Gray was listening.

Very good.

Of course John would want to know which one he was screwing.

I wonder if he guessed. Or if he just figured it was all of them.

I suspect he had a pretty good idea.

very much so.

I'm pretty sure he knew about Ianto, didn't he?

by the way, do you know when the new doctor who or torchwood or sarah jane might start? I know I'm the one in England, but...

Oh, and did you see the christmas special? It was just one day beyond what I could set to tape while I was gone :-( Any idea where I might be able to find it online?

I was wondering that. I think he did, but I'm not sure how. Must watch the episodes again to check....

The next Doctor Who special is rumoured to be around Easter.

I'm not sure about series three of Sarah Jane Adventures. Series 2 ended not too long ago and I haven't seen it yet.

did you see the christmas special?

Yes.

Any idea where I might be able to find it online?

I'll see if I can send you a copy. My copy is flawed, so let's see if I can fix it and then give it to you.

Cool, I'll look out for more Doctor Who around Easter then.

I watched series 1 of Sarah Jane just after or about the same time as doctor who and then series 2 followed immediately, so I watched that too.

Thanks for sending me a copy if you can. Otherwise, let me know what websites you might find it on and I can do the downloading myself. ;-)

(logged in now, sorry!)

Hee - logging in is a good thing.

I've yet to see series 2 of The Sarah Jane Adventures but I'm really looking forward to it.

Should be no problem in sending you the Doctor Who special a.s.a.p., I'll try to sort that out tomorrow.

I enjoyed Series 2 of TSJA -- I thought it improved over series 1. It was a bit weird that every story was 2 episodes. 6 2-episode stories for the 12 eps. Never seen that before. I liked that they threw in some Indian characters, though I did like the first family they had in there.

Thanks for sending the Doctor Who special!! :-D

Haven't sent it yet... a.s.a.p., I promise!

An Indian family in SJA? I like that!

It's okay, whenever you get to it, no hurry! :-)

Yeah, an Indian family. Maria and her dad move to NYC (?) and a new family moves in next door with a daughter the same age who conveniently takes Maria's place. Actually, I think they did it fairly well, convenient coincidences aside.

Aww. I loved them!

As long as she's personable - I'm ready to trust them on this. But I really loved Maria, who was extremely convincing and sympathetic. A teen without the cliches associated with teenhood. I hope they write the other girl as well.

Yeah, we (and they) miss them a lot. That's part of why I think they did it well -- they dealt with the issue of them leaving. And the new girl worked her way in gradually.

I think she's done fairly well. but, then, I thought they did the whole Indian family thing well. They're not any different from any other English family -- which is pretty much the case for a lot of Indians in this country. Of course, what's his name, the black kid, we see more of his family as well, and they're pretty normal English people too. As a show, they really do a good job of being "blind" to race. At least, I think so. ;-)

On Saturday I watched the first episode of this series of The Sarah Jane Adventures. Sad to see Maria leaving, but I agree that it was very well written. I loved it that Maria's mother remembered what had happened, and knew it happened, but went along with the 'bad dream' story.

I also liked the various reactions of the different characters to Maria's going away.

I look forward to the next girl. Maybe next Saturday I can watch it - ?

Seen any more? No worries, but any chance on getting the Doctor Who special?

By the way, can you send me a private email with your mailing address? I picked something up that I thought you'd get a kick out of and enjoy, but I don't have your address. Yes, doctor who related, what else? And no it's not Jack. ;-p
