I went to see [livejournal.com profile] maaseru in the hospital again this evening. [livejournal.com profile] maaboroshi was already there when I arrived, and we went to get some supper in the cafeteria, and then took it up to eat it at [livejournal.com profile] maaseru's bedside. [livejournal.com profile] maaseru seemed much more chipper today - she could hardly be less chipper than she was yesterday - though tired, and her knee hurt. Her friend Sue also dropped by, and [livejournal.com profile] maaseru spilled a glass of ice water over her bed, which was a few minutes of excitement and drama.

[livejournal.com profile] maaboroshi and I shared a taxi to come home. It was a relief. After walking home from the hospital last night, and walking to work this morning, the muscles complain. I don't think I'll ever walk again.

Till tomorrow, anyway.

I am now sitting comfortably in warm apartment (warm compared to the winter out there), with a blazing fire on my television - the budgies love it, and are chirping loudly.

How is she?

She's doing all right. Sleepy, but not nearly as much as as she was yesterday. She hasn't had time to be bored yet, and medically speaking, she's feeling pretty good - the doctor said her knee was doing really well. Which is the whole point.

I was sitting beside her bed when I read your message, and I read it to her. She said to tell you that her hospital supper was chinese food and it was the worst she'd ever had. It looked bad. The menu said "chinese stirfry" but it looked like beef stew.

We even saw her walk to the bathroom, with walker. Mighty impressive.

Please her a gentle hug for me. :) I'm glad she is feeling better. Hugs from the chubbies too. :)

When I get to the hospital today, I'll pass on the multiple hugs.

IS this as bad a winter as last winter? Now I'm thinking maybe it's judgmental to call Ottawa's last winter "bad". I'm sure some people considered it "good".

Hard to tell, when we're only at Jan 11. If it continues to snow as much as it has so far, we'll probably get as much snow. Time will tell. It seems to be a worse winter than usual in a lot of places, with flooding in BC and storms in the Maritimes. So far I'd say this winter in Ottawa was just sort of typical. Cold, snowy, wintry - just like winters are supposed to be. And not very cold yet, at that. On the other hand, we've had nothing like a January thaw.

Nice skating weather. It's all in the perspective!
