I think you'd like Angel just fine if you started it with Season 2 - you can always go back to watch season 1 later. Hell, why do it in order if that order doesn't work for you. I started watching Supernatural from 4.1 on, for example.
Wesley has a ton of evolution in Season 2 as well. Because it's just a shame that you'd miss Angel 5 with Spike, which was just tons of fun from start to finish.
Dean is the somewhat shorter, somewhat better looking brother.
I keep thinking the other guy, Jared Padelecki - by stature and looks, though not by acting talent, could easily play Niccolo. Anyway, it gives me a good model to work with, visually speaking.
