Jan. 1st, 2009 10:01 amA whole new year beckons.
I started it by sleeping late, finishing reading a Torchwood novel, listening to John Barrowman CDs, and baking muffins. And about to watch The Lord of the Rings in moments. With some of my favourite people.
It's a good start to 2009 already.

We were watching the whole thing as a marathon, starting with the third movie, but after seeing the first, we stopped halfway through the second, because we have things to do still and have to be at work early tomorrow. Except for
We'll probably watch The Two Towers another day.

Seeing them out of order gave an interesting perspective. One thing we really noticed was the contrast between the darkness of the third movie and the colourful brightness of the first.

Date: 2009-01-02 12:33 pm (UTC)It isn't recommended as the way of always watching the movies, but it does underscore that each section has its own momentum.
And each part is wonderful in its way.
