Can't Get There From Here

Jack trusted Ianto enough to let him examine his wristband. "How's it broken?" Ianto asked.

"It works, but the vortex manipulator was disabled."

"Why?"

"Someone thought it was a good idea."

"An enemy?"

"A good friend."

Ianto frowned. "So you're trapped here?"

"Right where I want to be."

"Can't you fix it again?"

"Don't need to. It does all I need. It reminds me... of who and what I was. It has some useful tools inside. The rest, I can do without."

Ianto frowned, skeptical. "You don't want to visit the TARDIS?"

Jack grinned. "Can't get there from here, anyway."
