Innocence
The first time Ianto kissed Captain Jack, it was part of a methodical plan. Everyone knew Harkness would shag anyone: sex was his big weakness. Ianto, though inexperienced, had every skill he needed in the art of seduction, and Jack made it easy for him. Exploit the vulnerability. Move in for the kill. The stakes were high; this was Lisa's life on the line.
It was hardly a challenge, and not an unpleasant one. Ianto teased and tempted, moved in. Naively, he thought he had won the battle.
One thing Ianto hadn't predicted. He hadn't meant to fall in love.

Secretly I’ve been tailing you
Like a fox that prays on a rabbit
Had to get you and so I knew
I had to learn your ways and habits.
Oo, you were the catch that I was after
I looked up and I was in your arms
And I knew that I was captured.
What's this whole world coming to
Things just ain't the same
Any time the hunter gets captured by the game.
I had to lay such a tender trap
Hoping you might fall into it
Love hit me with a sudden slap
One kiss and then I knew it.
Oo, my plans didn't work out like I thought
I had laid my trap for you but it seems that I got caught
What's this whole world coming to
Things just ain't the same
Any time the hunter gets captured by the game

Given that Ianto is - for all we see - so very conscientious and honourable, how did he deal with sustaining the level of deception involved? So many psychological issues to examine, all of them delicious. I'd say Ianto was pretty much in a state of breakdown by "Cyberwoman", and with good reason - which is why he is so out of control in that episode.
