I don't want to see any of the Christmas release movies. Haven't heard of anything that interests me in the least. The next movie I'm looking forward to is Watchmen, which may or may not come out next March. The next one after that is Wolverine: Orgins, scheduled for a May release.

Both comic book movies. I'm not sure what that says about the movie industry. Traditionally my favourite movies are musicals, romantic comedies, thrillers and historical dramas. Traditionally, comic book movies are usually feeble. But that seems to be changing.

What with Mamma Mia!, Quantum of Solace, Passchendaele and Iron Man, 2008 was a good year for movies, though I wish someone would make a good historical drama again. Has the failure of Alexander the Great discouraged them all?

A Dutch/German movie (http://www.nu.nl/film/1854896/rutger-hauer-mogelijk-in-karel-de-grote-film.html) about the live of Karel de Grote (Charlemagne)is in the making/planning. It will be based on three epic poems "Karel ende Elegast" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elegast), the "Roelantslied" and "De Ferguut" with (hopefully) Rutger Hauer as Karel.

but it will take a while, they hope to start filming next year, but it depends on money...

I thought 2008 was lousy for films: I didn't go to the flicks at all. I suspect that in 2009 I shall also be sticking to DVDs…

2008 was definitely not good for films. I liked the ones I mentioned; there was nothing else I remotely wanted to see.

There was a few movies I missed this year, like the dark knight and Get Smart which are now on DVD.

I also want to see Quantum of Solace. I don't want to see Twilight.

I also want to see Quantum of Solace.

I loved it.

I don't want to see Twilight.

I just... can't imagine any reason to see it.

I'm like part of the target audience, (I'm 19) but I've never read the books but apparently they are very addictive even though they are trashy novels.

I'm not into that. More into James Bond, Torchwood, Doctor Who. I'm more a geek.

Even when I was a teen I mostly didn't read books for teens. Maybe I'd like the Twilight series, I don't know, but I don't feel inclined to try it just because it's had too much hype. I'm not even big on Harry Potter. Like you, I prefer James Bond, Torchwood and Doctor Who.

I've read Harry Potter and enjoyed it. But not a big fan.

I also enjoyed the Bourne series of movies.

The Bourne movies were excellent, but I was bored by the books.
