I have the book Wicked, in fact was looking at it in my bedroom bookcase just the other day. Want me to send to you? I'd read it in pieces, originally. I was just so peeved at myself that I had abandoned my decades-ago projects of writing prose versions of song lyrics, and of fairy tales! But I'll try to look at it again. The writing is quite distinctive. Some would call it sparse and cold. But I loved it.
