Teleologial diversion...
Jul. 29th, 2008 02:51 pmI don't usually go for poetry (or prose) with Christian content but this one caught my fancy:
Double Dactyl by Kristin M. Johnson
Higgledy-piggledy,
Jesus of Nazareth,
told of the plan for the
saving of man,
surveyed the world with a
teleological
sigh and said: "Father, I'll
do what I can."
Confession: I had to look up 'teleological'. I used to know what it meant, right? That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Anyway, Chambers online says: "teleology [noun] the doctrine that the universe, all phenomena and natural processes are directed towards a goal or are designed according to some purpose."
