I went to see "Pirates of the Caribbean" again tonight.

I had such a rotten, crappy day that about 4.30 I phoned my friend Lyn - whom I knew hadn't seen the movie, and wanted to - and dangled the possibility of seeing it in front of her. She snapped at the bait. How I love it when my friends are corruptible!

I enjoyed it as much as ever - of course.

I wish more characters had names, for the sake of writing fanfic, but that's okay.... Perhaps I should say, I wish I knew who all the names in the 'cast list' are actually referring to.

I wish I had a transcript of the movie.

I love every moment Jack Sparrow is on screen, and every line he utters. I don't think he has any dialogue that isn't truly funny. Some of his dialogue is other things as well - touching or profound or double-entendres or whatever - but he makes every word funny.

Sexy too. I have to write more slash about him.

Afterwards walking home was sheer pleasure - a clear, cool, dry night, with lots of people on Elgin Street because it was such a perfect summer evening.

A Perfect End...!

I'm so sorry that your day was crappy, but thrilled that you took it to better heights in the afternoon and evening. Ahh... can just imagine the walk along Elgin Street in the cool evening, lights and sounds and restaurant smells, conversations all around, walking happily home. A good end to the day.

It really was. Most of the restaurants have their windows out, so that every place seemed like an open-air cafe, and there's a buzz of conversation in the air - sometimes music - such a nice atmosphere.

Dunno if I can help ya or not, but I sailed with a few of the people on the cast list. Two that I know of got screen time. Which names did you need to put a face to?

Excellent! Did Elizabeth's maid have a name? Did Norrington or Gillette ever have a first name? Who are the two pirates with the parasols, and the black guy who was shot by Norrington at the end?

LOL-- not one of those are sailors, I fear... The people I know are background pirates--Interceptor crew.

So it goes...
