Jack. I think he doesn't mind serving mankind as a sort of side effect, but it's Jack that matters, and Jack he is concerned about.

Yes. Give him time - years, perhaps even decades - and he'll be there. But he needs time. For now, it's Jack who's his priority. Which includes living up to what Jack wants of him, or needs of him.
