No Chips
The Doctor lay on the floor of the TARDIS, looking up at stars - seeing nothing.
He was reliving a gamut of sensory recollection. He remembered Rose's touch and scent. Her taste - well actually, yes, her taste, and the taste of chips, and their smell, that delicious steamy-hot-potato smell with traces of oil, vinegar, and salt. This was on the Penzance boardwalk in '46, where Rose had laughed at him for enjoying his chips too much. "Greedy guts," she said, and ate half his chips for him.
There were no chips now. There would never be any chips again.
