Snowy, sunny, happy day...

A really nice day.

Went to brunch at Baker St. with Catherine, maaseru and maaboroshi. And then to Chapters, where we browsed books for a very long time and I took a lot of notes and bought a few Christmas presents.

Then maaseru and I went for groceries at the Loblaw's at Rideau and Nelson, and we got some wonderful food but spent more than we collectively had and had to put $6.43 of it on a debit card. Blush.

Read some Torchwood fic. Napped. Made bread pudding. Watched Torchwood episode "Captain Jack Harkness" because Catherine had never seen it. (Hardship, right?)

commodorified and I were at Chapters later this afternoon -- we probably just missed you (we went on the "Support Kyoto" march and then for lunch at a great Mexican place on Dalhousie St. near Clarence). Christmas presents were on my agenda, too.

I also had leftover bread this week, and made stuffing (to eat with chicken cutlets rather than a whole bird). It was easy to make, and tasted great, and was much better than the commercial mixes. I must remember to make it more often.

You don't need an excuse to watch "Captain Jack Harkness"!

Chapters and Mexican - what a nice combination!

I don't often have leftover bread because I don't often buy bread. And when do buy bread, I don't eat it fast enough that half of it doesn't get stale or mouldy. On the other hand - when I do have it, it's a huge treat! I also really love bread pudding. Having bread on hand is an excuse for that, too.

No, I don't need an excuse to watch "Captain Jack Harkness", and I have been known to watch it on my own - though I tend to prefer watching TV with someone, and I think I've made every one of my friends watch it by now. Still - a few of them might be up for a second round, hmm?

Seeing the trailers for series 2 Torchwood has made me want to watch series 1 all over again ahead of time. Just because I can.

Sigh. I wish I could have joined you for at least part of that.

As I mentioned to another OSFS friend of mine (Lyn), I was working last night and missed the party. (What I also added were the reasons why: the office party was picked to be the same night as the OSFS one; I was then told that too many other people have already booked off this time, so I couldn't; then said office party was cancelled [just last week] due to "lack of interest.")

Very lively. I recall at least a dozen in attendance off the top, and we had a very good time of it. I'm just sorry I had to bow out early due to my usual travel arrangements.
