I never quite figured Billis out, which wasn't necessarily a bad thing, but made things feel unfinished.
Since I like Bilis - a lot - I wouldn't mind seeing him come back in series 2 or 3. He's probably my favourite Torchwood villain. It's probably not a coincidence that he's the most mysterious. And a Time Traveller.
And it REALLY made Gwen and Owen and their various reactions to everything seem bizarre.
That needed to be so much more convincing than it was. Twelve episodes had been spent establishing the deep personal love and loyalty the Torchwood team felt for Jack - and their faith in him - and it's overturned in ten minutes by unconvincing visions? It seemed extremely odd.
It's a great, great episode... but it just needed a little help
I agree. It has brilliant parts - the parts that were fully developed. It needed, in my opinion, at least another 30 minutes and more careful writing and editing to make it more coherent and more convincing.
