It's utterly amazing how much damage RTD did to the character of the Doctor in such a short period of time.
I wonder why. Why not have him be kind to Martha? Accepting of Jack, and happy to see him again - even if we have a period of difficulty? Russell is or can be a much better writer than this.
I really hope it's because he needs her, not she needs him.
I'd like to see it be both, but I'm not holding my breath.
