Fannish 5: Pets...

- Kiki, from the Adventure series by Enid Blyton. I see by looking at wikipedia that Kiki was a cockatoo. I remembered her (him?) as being a parrot.
- Proty, from The Legion of Super-Heros. Chameleon Boy's pet.
- Dexter the lovebird in Cagebird by Karin Lowachee
- Lockheed, the dragon belonging to Kitty Pryde in X-Men comics.
- Inevitably, K-9 from Doctor Who, whom I have only seen in "School Reunion" - though he did have a brief and elusive moment in the first of the The Sarah Jane Adventures. I expected K-9 to be embarrassingly appalling. Instead he won my heart.

Date: 2007-10-10 06:15 pm (UTC)If you ever come across a t.v. show called K-9 and company, watch it. Its a very old, very cheesy type of sarah jane adventures...only K-9 was the lead. Sweetness abounds.
My fiancee has been whining about wanting a k-9 for ages lol, and got genuninly upset at the end of school reunion when he thought K-9 was deceased. Looked right at me with a wild eyed look and said 'they wouldn't do that, would they?'. He did a boy squee when K-9 came back though. LOL.

OK, he's really a demon, not a real cat, and he's certainly nobody's pet, but he is the coolest cat in the literary universe! A large, talking black cat, who smokes cigars, wears a hat and raincoat (I see him as a feline Russian-speaking Bogart), and can swing from chandeliers firing a pistol? What's not to love?!!!
