This evening I attended Beulah's 75th birthday party at Robbie's Spaghetti House.

Many of my local fannish friends were there; I was sitting with Lyn, Lisa, and the Willner family, with 9 year old Eleanor on one side of me and her grandmother, 93 year old Elizabeth, on the other side. I explained to Sheila how Lisa and Elizabeth Willner have known me since Lisa and I were both seven, and in all the room, the only person to have known me longer was Harry - whom I've known since we both were five.

And I was in luck: Eleanor didn't want the mushrooms that were on her chicken, so I got to eat them.

Wow. Do I understand that there were five generations in one room? Oh, and the tales Elizabeth could tell Eleanor that she'd end up remembering all her life.
Mazel tov!

And there I was off at Library and Archives that night...oh well.

Must remember to call Beulah today...

AAAARRGH!!!!!

I thought Beulah's birthday was in October, not September.

I feel such chagrin.

I must get a card in the mail immediately... boy, have I been out of touch... gad.

I love the thought of knowing people (and being with them) who have known one since one was quite young. This is real and precious, and so joyful.

Glad everyone had a good time!

Yes, Beulah's party was terrific. A good time was had by all, both her family and friends. I even wore a dress - but discovered that I can only wear one earring now, as my left ear-piercing has closed up.

Libary and Archives? My kinds of places. What were you doing?

Hmm. I would thing there were at least... Well, it depends how you count, because we're not just looking at one family. Beulah's stepgranddaughter was there with her children (in their teens) so that can be said to be four generations. Elizabeth Willner to Lisa to Lisa's kids is only three generations. Most of the rest of us were somewhere between 35 and 85, I would think. Still. Such fun to have a diverse group.

Never one. Aarrr!

(And I love it when I make you laugh out loud. I did, didn't I? Yep, I did.)

Yes, you did.

Yesterday one of the volunteers at the theatre walked into our office with a present for us - a beautiful large poster of Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow. Looking roguish. So now I have Johnny Depp hanging above my desk - prefect! Just the thing to inspire us in the workplace.

What a fun story; thanks for sharing it!

Have you shared the "all true wealth is biological" quote yet?
